“Checked Out” in the KNUST Library catalogue means that the item has already been borrowed by another registered library user and is currently on loan. As a result, that particular copy is not immediately available for borrowing.
The catalogue may also display information such as the due date of the borrowed item. If the library allows reservations, you may be able to place a hold or reservation on the item so that you can borrow it when it is returned.
If the catalogue record shows multiple copies of the same book, check the status of each copy. One copy may be “Checked Out” while another copy is “Available.”
Once the borrowed item is returned and processed by the library, its status may change back to “Available,” provided there are no other restrictions or reservations.
If you urgently need the book, you can also search the catalogue by title, author, ISBN, or subject to see whether another copy or edition is available.
